Law Enforcement & Cybercrime Recovery

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day! At The Cybercrime Support Network (CSN), we have so many incredible law enforcement partners to recognize. We work hard to bridge the gap between cybercrime victims and the help they need. Many of our efforts are made possible by the collaboration of law enforcement partners like Michigan State Police, Kent County Sheriff’s Office, Rhode Island State Police, and the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)

The Michigan State Police department runs the Michigan Cyber Command Center (MC3) to coordinate critical response during emergency cyber incidents. They also oversee the Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. This task force includes federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies throughout Michigan with the common goal of investigating offenders who use the internet to exploit children.

The Rhode Island State Police also does great work in the field of cybercrime recovery. The Rhode Island Joint Cyber Task Force (RIJCTF) was established to defend the security of critical infrastructure. The analysis and support provided by the Rhode Island State Police is vitally important to the state’s cybersecurity.
The FBI/IC3 receives and compiles cybercrime complaints, allowing victims to report information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This data is also used to analyze cybercrime trends, which allows both cybersecurity and cybercrime recovery professionals to stay current and provide the best possible resources to consumers.

We look forward to our continued work alongside our partners to aid victims of cybercrime. Thanks to a $1 million cooperative agreement from the Department of Homeland Security, we will begin creating a uniform cybercrime reporting structure in order to give government entities and law enforcement real-time, integrated, and operational cybercrime data to combat cybersecurity risks.

We are so appreciative of all of our law enforcement partners and collaborators. Thank you for all that you do!
