Women Leaders for the World Raising An Army of Change Makers Across the Continent

As a young woman, our CEO and founder, Kristin Judge, was drawn to helping others. She studied education and counseling and taught 6th grade before becoming a mother. As a full-time mother, her professional path was modified, but her community volunteering eventually led to her second career of public service. Kristin was elected to serve as the Washtenaw County Commissioner in 2008 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and while supporting the U.S Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to promote cybersecurity education and awareness, she was approached by victims of cybercrime in need of help. Their experiences ignited her to take action against cybercrime.

After elected office, she worked at the Center for Internet Security focusing on connecting state and local governments to the federal services and technology needed to improve cybersecurity. As Director of Government Affairs at the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), Kristin worked with Google, FTC, FBI, SBA, DHS, NIST congressional leaders and other key stakeholders across the country to educate consumers and businesses on how to best protect sensitive data.

Kristin’s passion is to leave her community better than it was when she entered it. She is an expert on cybercrime and her desire to help victims has led to the startup of the leading voice for cybercrime victims, Cybercrime Support Network (CSN). Since the non-profit launched in 2017, Kristin has seen much success serving the victims of cybercrime and creating a fundamental, national change in the way victims of cybercrime receive help by connecting them to resources to report, recover and reinforce.

Since 2018, CSN has provided help to almost 600,000 victims of cybercrime. By utilizing the CSN resource database and first national cybercrime recovery resource database, Fightcybercrime.org, partnering with United Way and 211 to initiate a Cybercrime Support Hotline, and partnering with Google to create Scam Spotter, CSN aims to reach even more victims in 2020 to combat the damage of cybercrime and halt to the plight of cybercrime that currently affects the nation.

Each day, Kristin strives to surround herself with passionate leaders, and hopes to grow her circle of amazing women to learn from and grow with. She is especially inspired by the women in the previous Women Leaders for the World (WLW) cohorts.

To succeed in today’s marketplace, one needs a global perspective that can be developed with the right access, connections and experiences.
